Patching Bass Parr
Patching is named after the Patching family of the Texas Panhandle. His great grandmother "Mur" (Meridith Jean Rich formerly Meridith Jean Bass) was the granddaughter of Frederick George Patching Sr most commonly known as "The Bar O Kid". He was the outside man (also known as the Bar O rep) at a very uncommonly young age, hence the term "kid". Such a position required a man whose character was above reproach due to the nature of the position and working with multiple ranches' cattle. He later earned the respect of Col Charles Goodnight by corralling a rogue buffalo known in the area as "Sikes". Additionally, he roped a black bear in the Palo Duro canyon which earned him respect among the cowboys, but certainly posed a problem with the bear!
We considered the name David as David was a man after God's heart, but decided on a heritage rich name instead. The morning Patching was born, we turned to II Samuel 7:9 (God's promises to David). "I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men of the earth." After reading this, we felt confident in our name choice (in the event we had a boy) and this is Patching's passage which cooresponds with his birth date, July 9th.

Clark's baby sister arrived at 10 PM on July 4th!
We are so excited that she has arrived and are now even more anxious to meet our new family member who is due to arrive tomorrow!
